vitus nucleus 27 vr
vitus nucleus 27 vr, 4 x victor of MBR magazine £500 Hardtail of the Year.....
Try not to be tricked by the sticker cost, the Core isn’t your common section level off-road bicycle. It’s the underpinning of the Vitus trail blazing bicycle range, with forceful math intended to get you snared. Try not to say we didn’t caution you. For 2021 all models currently accompany 1x groupsets.
The low, long, and slack calculation is coupled to 120mm of Suntour Air suspension dealing with any unpleasant landscape you’ll experience on the paths while the Tektro M275 or Clarks M2 brakes will give you adequate halting power. For 2021 the Core has gotten a strung base section for expanded duribility and a wide reach groupset thanks to the new Box Four drivetrain. A grasp enacted back mech, and a restricted wide 1x chainring front and center will keep you on the paths day in and day out. vitus nucleus 27 vr
Our attempted and tried blend of WTB tires and edges offers predominant execution and hold. Polished off with a blend of Vitus and Nukeproof parts the Nucleys 27 VR has moved forward to take your riding to a higher level.

So, I got mine at the start of July and so far ridden around 140miles so far, now I’m an experienced rider of 20+ year but this is my first big bike.
First, the frame is solid. It is snappy, light and will go pretty much where you want to put it with not much resistance or flex. With the sunrace forks it’s a pretty damp ride, I looked up the psi for the air fork and I take it to around 85psi. It takes the bumps real well and is as stable on the decent as the trail, the lock out is awesome for the climbs.
The maxxis ardent tires, are fairly sticky in both dry, wet and damp conditions with a lot of grip for the tough climbs and my local loose rocky trails. Rims and hubs are solid and I’ve had no wobble or problems with quick release.
I was very surprised with the Clarks m2 brakes, they have a lot of stopping power, lots of bite, feel and modulation. Now they are very good at stopping however are very reluctant to actually lock the wheel but if you pull enough, they will. The disks are the perfect complement to the brakes, they disperse the heat really well and don’t squeal.
Drivetrain is nice, the 1×8 is a nice spread with enough torque to pull up hills and enough speed for road riding and sending hills, the box shifter and derailleur are okay, they are smooth, shift well and never had a problem with skipping or the chain falling off. I probably will swap it for sram or Shimano at some point but it does the job without much fuss.
I didn’t bother with pedals in the box, I went straight for dmr V8. However the grips and bars are really nice.
All in all for the price and what the bike is and can do, I’m very impressed. If this is your entry mountain bike, then do it, it will be super nice to work on and great platform to upgrade into an xc monster.
For reference I am 6ft, 80/85kg and went for the large frame. Tyre pressure at 60psi, fork pressure 90psi, bar position at -2. Riding experience 25 years, BMX and racing

got this bike a couple of days ago and had no problems other than having to fix the brakes rubbing, but after I sorted the brakes out it was supper enjoyable to ride on the local trails.

Put the bike together and looks good, however, putting the front wheel on ALWAYS rubs against the brake pads, I have tried aligning the wheel, tried to adjust the coliper (losing bolts then apply brake before tighening followed by adjustment etc). However, whenever all seems fine, the rubbing starts again whenever I reapply the brakes. 🙁 :(. I still have not even taken the bike out of the house!!!!

You get a verry well equiped bike with modern geo for a reasonable price. It will last longer than a cheaper bike. This medium bike was bought for my oldest son and he rode a small Nucleus before that now have been handed down to my youngest son.

I brought this bike around a week ago and it arrived in 6 days (faster than stated) although when I checked tracking it said it was being brought of wiggle although I ordered of CRC so was a little confused but didn’t really mind it. When it came I had to spin the front wheel around multiple times to get the handlebars perfect which was a bit of a pain but got there in the end. Its an amazing bike, beautifully coloured and quite fast. One thing I dislike is the cable for the derailleur is exposed and can’t be put in a full length cable housing (doesn’t effect performance just personal preference) overall its a really good bike, better than last years model I’d say and is perfect for a beginner or experienced rider
